What is "Back to Basics"
Back to Basics is a computer based training course designed to help you
piece together the different applications on your computer and help you get
the most out of your PC.
In today's fast paced environment technology is changing so rapidly many are finding it hard to keep up.
In fact, for most of us our children have already outpaced us when it comes to the home computer by the time they are twelve years old.
Unfortunately in today's society this lack of knowledge is used by a new breed of predator that preys on unsuspecting teenagers and adults alike.
A cyber predator uses every tool at their disposal to gain as much personal information about you for identity theft and some are specialists in passing themselves off as teenagers to befriend other teenagers which can have horrific results.
If a computer is connected to the web, it is almost impossible to set it up so that that your child is protected from explicit content or from access to social networking sites or chat rooms.
Part of this course is designed to help you understand exactly what your child is doing on the PC and how to help them surf the net safely.
The Back to Basics course will help put you back in control of your PC enabling you to have the confidence to develop your skills and creativity and not to be afraid of "Breaking the Computer".

Why Train with Integracom - What makes us different

Course Duration
- This is a three day course timed around school hours 9:15 am - 2:15 pm
(Students can stay on until 4:30 pm for hands-on training) - Enough time to drop the children off, have a coffee and get started
- Days are normally Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday
- There is also an option to do this as an evening course normally six evenings spread over 2 weeks
- Evenings are normally Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, 5:00 pm - 8:30 pm

- Day 1 or evening 1 and 2
- Understanding your PC
- Safe internet use and parental control
- Social network sites such a MySpace, FaceBook and MSN Messenger
- Understanding Anti-Virus protection
- E Mail - How it works and what's safe
- Internet banking, Do's and Don'ts
- Day 2 or evening 2 & 3
- Microsoft Excel - Setting up your home accounts
- Microsoft Word - being creative with Word
- Basic Photo editing
- Day 3 or evening 5 and 6
- How to legally and safely download music
- Loading music onto to your MP3 player
- Burning CDs and DVDs
- Backing up data from your PC
- Buying and selling on eBay
- Using the Internet to make free and cheap phone calls using VoIP
- YouTube
Cost
$300.00 including GST
Includes a take-home manual - Tea and Coffee all day
Additional - Introduction to Digital Media
To complement this course Integracom also runs a one day workshop "Introduction to Digital Media". This workshop is designed to be more focused on photo and video applications as well as back-up storage.
The workshops are normally run on a Saturday from 9:00 am until 4:30 pm.
