A career in a Technical Industry
You are interested in a career as a technician but don't know where to start?
This can be a daunting challenge as there are numerous pathways set up by different organisations to help you along the way.
The Electronic Security and Telecommunications industries offer exciting, challenging and rewarding opportunities for young enthusiastic trainees.
There has always been a misconception that you need to be an electrician first before becoming a Communications or Security Technician.
This is not true; though having an electrical apprentiship behind you is advantageous it is not necessary.
In a commercial building today Telecommunications cabling infrastructures are as mission critical to a company as lights and power points, and Electronic Security Systems both Intruder and CCTV play a pivotal Role in protecting that mission critical information.
At Integracom we have set out a career pathway for a young technician to start training as both a Telecommunications Technician and also as a Security Technician.
Why train as both?
The gap between the industries is now so obscure as they are overlapping into areas such as IP CCTV Systems and IP intruder systems both operating on a telecommunications cabling Infrastructure therefore having formal qualifications in both areas is advantageous when looking to join a company for that on the job experience.
For this reason Integracom have designed a training program that can be completed over a period of 6 months to two years incorporating on the job training.
