ICT30210: Certificate III in Telecommunications

Course Overview

Integracom Management Group are now offering the Certificate III in Telecommunications. This course is aimed at electricians and technicians who want to formalise their Telecommunications training into a qualification. The course can be self funded or it can be done as part of a Government funded traineeship for new or existing workers.

The course is divided into three main logical components allowing a student to stop and start at the end of each section. It also allows a student who has already completed such courses as an 'Open Registration' or any of the endorsement course to have those qualifications recognised effectively exempting them from resitting those courses.

Traineeships

Integracom can now offer this course as a Traineeship in all States and Territories in Australia. There are no age limitations and the traineeship is open to new and existing technicians working in a technical or associated industry. There are major financial incentives to becoming a trainee including but not limited to:

• Cost of your training covered by the Government
• Financial incentives to your employer if you are over 25 years of age
• You as the technician will be eligible to a payment of up to $5500.00 (Tax Free) on successful completion as part of the "Tools for Trade Program"

Minimum Prerequisites

• You must be an Australian resident to qualify
• You must be employed by a company for a nominal 21 hours per week
• You must be working in a relevant industry

Program

The qualification consists of three main Parts

Part 1 - Pre requisites

Comprising of 7 units

1. ICTOHS2170A Follow occupational and health and safety and environmental policy and procedures
2. ICTTEN2140A Use hand and power tools
3. ICTBWN3205A Use optical and radio frequency measuring instruments
4. ICTTEN2007A Use electrical skills in telecommunications work
5. ICTTEN3056A Install telecommunications network equipment
6. BSBSUS301A Implement and monitor environmentally sustainable work practices
7. ICTEDU3053A Train customers

These 7 units can be completed as self paced study combining on-Line content followed by a two day workshop.

Part 2 - Cabling Registration

Comprising of 2 units

1. ICTCBL2 136A Restricted Registration
2. ICTCBL2 137A Open Registration

On successful completion of these two units a technician or electrician will be awarded a certificate of attainment allowing them to apply to a registrar of choice, to obtain their cabling registration card (Cabling licence)

Part 3 - Endorsements

Comprising of 3 units

1. ICTCBL3 009A Structured cabling installation
2. ICTCBL3 010A Optical fibre cabling
3. ICTCBL3 011A Coaxial cable

On successful completion of these three units a technician or electrician will be awarded a certificate of attainment allowing them to apply to their registrar to obtain their cabling endorsements on their licence.

In WA these courses are approved for KRONE Certification

Course includes a copy of the standards as well as a KRONE termination tool
