ACMA Open Registration Cabling Course
(Old Austel License)
An Open Registration is the first and primary course a student should undertake if they wish to work in the Telecommunications arena as it will enable a student to legally work in most areas relating to Telecommunications cabling.
This course replaces the old AUSTEL and BCL License which required a cabler to do Endorsement courses if they wished to install specialist Telecommunications cabling including Structured Cabling Systems (SCS) and Optical Fibre
- Under the current requirements for Open Registration these endorsements are now voluntary.
- This effectively means that a cabler holding an Open Registration can legally install the above specialist cable types without gaining Endorsements on their Registration

It must be noted however that even though a cabler may be legally allowed to install these specialist cables, holding an Open Registration does not make that cabler competent to install these cables correctly.
For this reason most reputable cabling companies will request cablers to have voluntary endorsements as part of their Registration.

There are three ways to complete the Open Registration course
- Full Time - 5 Full Days 8:00am - 4:30 pm
- Part Time - 2 nights per week for 5 Weeks 5:00 pm - 9:00 pm
- Fast Track (Experienced technicians only) - 2 Day workshop for assessment and practicals at the training centre plus minimum 4 weeks on line self-study

Cost: $800.00 GST Not applicable
Construction Rebate WA only
- In Western Australia CONSTRUCTION TRAINING FUND approval is normally applicable for students either currently working in the construction Industry or have worked in the construction industry within the last three months
- Cost is $289.00 if CONSTRUCTION TRAINING FUND approved
- It must be noted that this rebate scheme is an arrangement between the student and the CONSTRUCTION TRAINING FUND. Integracom Management Group and its associated companies do not form part of that arrangement.
