Course Outline
This training course has been developed for experienced alarm technicians or electricians to self study in order to understand the Australian regulatory framework and related control acts associated with the security industry. The course takes into account the experience technicians may already have obtained from their time in their respective industries and builds on that experience.
This course is ideal for experienced technicians who are coming in from Interstate or from Overseas.
This course also suits qualified electricians who are interested in adding Security installations to their portfolio.
One of the primary outcomes is to enable a technician to install and maintain a system that will carry out the functions for which it was designed to do with the minimum amount of disruption to either the customer or the security services resulting from false alarms or total malfunctions.

This alarm installation course incorporates the following units
CPPSEC2001A Communicate effectively in the security industry
CPPSEC2002A Follow workplace safety procedures in the security industry
CPPSEC2003A Work effectively in the security industry
CPPSEC2020A Provide technical security services to clients
CPPSEC2021A Install security equipment and systems
CPPSEC2026A Perform routine maintenance on security equipment and system
Course Delivery
This fast track alarm installation course is structured as follows
- Attend a two day workshop at on of our training centres
- Day 1- Complete the preliminary theory units
- Day 2- Complete the practicals associated with this course
- Complete the online theory units and assessments
- Attend one of our centres to complete the theory assessment
Certification
On successful completion of this course the student will be awarded a competency certificate based on the units they have successfully completed. It may be used to contribute to a Cert II in Technical Security.
