Course Outline
Designed to provide practical knowledge to the cabling industry, the course covers the essential elements of installation, termination and testing requirements of structured cabling systems both copper and fibre based on Australian Installation standards.
This is a nationally recognised and accredited course that will enable a student to apply to their registrar for a Structured Cabling and Optical Fibre endorsement to be applied to their Open Registration.
All courses are based on Australian installation standards.

Course Outcome
Even though this is an AMP certification course it is open to all technicians. All Technicians who successfully complete this course will be awarded a competency certificate for this endorsements that may be used to contribute to a Cert III in Telecommunications. Please note AMP certification associated with this course is currently only applicable in WA.
Course Delivery
This is a four-day or eight evening course which includes hands on practicals of copper and optical fibre terminations including testing using level 3 test devices, power and light source meters as well as OTDR test equipment.
The course is a mandatory requirement to achieve and maintain AMP NETCONNECT NDI Status
Course Content
This course is based on Australian Standards AS/ACIF S009:2006,AS/ACIF S008:2006 and AS 3080
Copper UTP, FTP and STP
- Understanding digital transmission
- UTP, FTP, shielding, earthing
- Structured cabling components
- Connector types and modules
- Categories and Transmission Performance
- Installation practices
- Class C, Class D, Class E Permanent Links and Channel Testing requirements and techniques.
Fibre
- Fibre Installation practices and safety
- Understanding light propagation
Transmission characteristics- Fusion splicing
- Mechanical splicing
- Testing and fault finding
Pre-Requisites
There are no pre requisites to attend this course or to obtain a certificate of attainment for
- ICTTC009C Structured Cabling
- ICTTC010C Optical Fibre
However, students must have an Open Registration to receive an AMP ANIT certificate, unless alternative arrangements have been made with TYCO Electronics.
On successful completion of this course the student will be awarded an AMP ANIT certificate of completion as well as a competency certificate for Optical Fibre and Structured Cabling systems that may be used to contribute to a Cert III in Telecommunications.

Cost:
- $980.00 GST Not applicable
- $364.00 if CONSTRUCTION TRAINING FUND approved
- In Western Australia CONSTRUCTION TRAINING FUND approval is normally applicable for students either currently working in the construction Industry or have worked in the construction industry within the last three Months
- It must be noted that this rebate scheme is an arrangement between the student and the CONSTRUCTION TRAINING FUND. Integracom Management Group and its associated companies do not form part of that arrangement.
