Antenna and Satellite Training Course for the Government Installer Training Program
Course Outline
This DRT training course is based around the ten competencies that need to be completed as part of the prerequisites required for a technician to be included under the Governments Endorsed Installer Program.
Upon successful completion of all ten units the student will be awarded a statement of attainment which can be submitted to the Department of Broadband Communications and the Digital Economy as part of the registration process.

Overview
Between 2010 and 2013 analog free-to-air (FTA) TV signals in Australia will be switched off and replaced with Digital only signals.
In order to help facilitate this migration the Antenna Installer Endorsement Scheme has been established as part of the Government's quality assurance measures to ensure consumers have access to skilled and endorsed antenna installers, to help them get ready for digital TV.
Antenna installers seeking to qualify for endorsement will have their skills and knowledge assessed against industry agreed minimum standards and can apply to be endorsed at three levels: Domestic, Commercial and/or Satellite.
Antenna Installers must complete the Domestic level of an on line assessment before continuing to the Commercial and/or Satellite assessment.
An alternative to completing the online assessment is to attend Integracoms DRT training course which is more interactive an ideal for either new entrants to the industry or for technicians or electricians who wish to up skill to meet the challenges of this enterprise.
Course Content
This course is based on Australian Standards AS/NZS 1367:2007 and AS/ACIF S009:2006

Part 1 Installing Antennas and Understanding RF
